Other opportunities
Data Entry
We are always in need of help maintaining all the data it takes to run a law office. Ideal volunteers for this role are attentive to detail, type accurately, and are comfortable using a computer. This role is available on weekdays from 9 am to 5 pm, for shifts of a minimum of 2 hours.
Translation
This role can be performed remotely. Usually, volunteer translators work more generally on internal documents when the need arises from our attorneys or staff. A brief internal training is required to ensure that translations are standardized.
Interpreters
Interpreters help provide language access at the above events/projects, or on an on-call basis when caseworkers need a particular language. Priority languages are currently Portuguese and French.
Fundraising ideas:
“Give”Your Birthday
Use your birthday, anniversary, or other milestone to make an impact! Consider "giving" your celebration to NMILC! We will help you set-up an online donation page specific to your event. A customized link will enable your friends and relatives to donate to NMILC.
Of course, you can still throw a party! In fact, we will send you a promo kit with information about our services, NMILC stickers, and a NMILC t-shirt, to help you celebrate.
Host a Home Event
Want to share NMILC’s mission with your friends but not sure how? We’ve created a complete Toolkit to help you host an NMILC House Event at your home! You choose the time, place, and guest list, and a member of NMILC’s staff will be in attendance to share about our mission, give updates on immigration news, and provide ways to get involved or donate. Learn more about hosting a house event by emailing our Volunteer & Development Coordinator, Delaney Swink, at dswink@nmilc.org.
Get Creative!
Are you a cyclist or runner with an upcoming race? Consider using it as a fundraising opportunity for NMILC! We will provide you with stickers and promotional items for your event. Let us help you find a way to connect your interests with NMILC!
