Celebrating Hospitality and Hope
Since January 2026, St. Michael’s volunteers have assisted 79 people released from immigration detention, offering welcome, hospitality, and accompaniment as people take their first steps toward safety and reunion with loved ones. With two more releases expected in the near future, we have much to celebrate.
St. Michael’s and the New Mexico Immigrant Law Center invite you to join us as we give thanks for this ongoing ministry and celebrate a new milestone in the work. A St. Michael’s volunteer attorney recently became the first attorney to successfully secure a person’s release from immigration detention through the New Mexico Habeas Project.
This gathering will be a chance to celebrate the hospitality ministry, honor the volunteers who make it possible, and share how legal professionals can become involved in NMILC’s habeas work. Attorneys, law students, paralegals, and other legal professionals who are interested in using their skills to support people seeking release are especially encouraged to attend.
Join us as we celebrate what faithful welcome and legal advocacy can make possible together.
